Study the Stable Diatomite-supported Catalyst for Biodiesel Production

چکیده

The stable of natural diatomite supported by potassium hydroxide (KOH) as catalysts were synthesized for biodiesel production. A heterogeneous base catalyst prepared impregnating KOH onto was also used to synthesize from palm oil. All samples have been thoroughly characterized Wavelength Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (WDXRF), diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption/desorption, Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), and Temperature-programmed desorption carbon dioxide (CO2-TPD). XRD, XRF, SEM results confi rm that adding in structural change. SiO2 K2O phases form the matrix during impregnation total basicity amount this compound promotes transesterifi cation process. maximum fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) content 84.56% obtained. reaction conditions follows: molar ratio oil methanol 1:9, loading 5 wt%, time 2 h, temperature 75 °C. This work provides a possible new method converting homogeneous (Diatomite/KOH) may show reusability, avoiding separation pollution problems environment.
